List of UFC events

This is a list of events scheduled and held with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), a mixed martial arts promotion based in the United States. UFC’s primary event, UFC 1, happened on November 12, 1993. Each UFC event includes several fights. Traditionally, every event starts off with a preliminary card followed with a principal card, together with the final struggle being known as the principal event.
UFC events are separated into seven Distinct formats:
„Numbered“ occasions, now broadcasting on pay-per-view, with some exceptions
„UFC on ESPN“ occasions, now airing on ESPN
„UFC on Fox“ events, previously aired on Fox
„Fight Night“ events, formerly aired on Spike, Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports two or UFC Fight Pass. Currently airing on ESPN+
„The Ultimate Fighter Finale“ events, previously aired on Spike, FX, Fox Sports 1 or 2 UFC Fight Pass. Will begin on ESPN+ in 2019
„UFC on FX“ events, formerly aired on FX
„UFC on Fuel TV“ events, formerly aired on Fuel TV
„UFC Live“ events, formerly aired on Versus
The majority of these“numbered“ events have happened on pay-per-view, though there are several exceptions for reasons such as tape-delay. Occasions like UFC 72, which happened in Belfast, Northern Ireland, U.K., were marketed on pay-per-view, but due to tape-delay, buy rates weren’t as large as events which aired in a conventional starting time. [1] As such, events participate in a number of time zones, including UFC 70, UFC 75, UFC 89, UFC 95, UFC 105, UFC 120, UFC 122, and UFC 138, were awarded a same-night airing in American prime time on Spike. [2]
Historically, the UFC has also aired preliminary struggles ahead of the principal fight cards, either on tv through Spike, FX, and Gas TV, or online through Facebook and YouTube. Starting in August 2013, beginning with UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen, the UFC began airing non-PPV events on either Fox Sports 1 or Fox Sports 2. [3] In January 2014, as a portion of their organization’s global expansion, the UFC started broadcasting various foreign events exclusively in their subscription-based digital community, UFC Fight Pass. [4]
In July 2009, the UFC held its unofficial 100th“numbered event“; however, officially, despite being known as UFC 100, it was really the 101st numbered event (and of course the 133rd event overall). The UFC signed a deal with Fox Sports Net, after Fox agreed to broadcast 1 fight in June 2002, during its“All-Star Summer“ that month. [5] UFC 37 and 38 had been scheduled and encouraged, however as UFC 38 was the advertising’s debut in the United Kingdom, they established UFC 37.5; an event that became the first ever combined martial arts fight on cable tv. [5]
As of UFC 239: Jones vs. Santos, which happened on July 6, 2019, there were 484 UFC events held in 154 cities in 26 countries.
